Debit Card FAQ

 

Important Dates:

  • New debit cards should arrive the first week of June.
  • New cards cannot be activated until June 17th, 2024.
  • Old cards will not work after June 17th, 2024.

What to do now:

  • Make sure your contact information is current with the bank so you can receive your new card.
  • Set yourself a reminder to activate your new card on June 17th, so you always have a working card.
  • Make any arrangements you need to for reoccurring subscriptions and charges to that card.

Other Important Information:

  • Your old pin number will not carry forward, so you will need to input a new one.
  • If you open a new account and get a debit card from May 20th, 2024 – June 17th, 2024 you will not be mailed a new card, but will have to come to the bank to get a new card.

How to activate your new card:

  • Call the number on the back of the card from the number associated with the account and follow the prompts.
  • Activate the new card in the app.
  • Come to the bank for assistance.
  • If you call from a number not associated with the account, you will need to have the last 4 digits of the tax ID number (or SSN), and the zip code of the account holder to activate the card.
If you have a First National Bank debit card, you will receive a new Panhandle First Bank debit card in late May or early June. If you have a Bank of the Panhandle debit card, you will receive a new debit card prior to the expiration date of your current card. 
If you have a First National Bank debit card, it will stop working on June 17th, 2024. You will need to activate the new card at this time (It will not activate before this). If you have a Bank of the Panhandle debit card, your card will continue to work until it's expiration date. 
The new debit card can be activated by calling the number on the sticker on the card and following the prompts, or it can be activated in new Panhandle First Bank mobile app.

Once activated, the new debit cards take the place of the old one. Customers will be required to set a new pin number, the old pin number will not carry forward with the new card. A new pin can be set by calling the number printed on the back of the card.
If you have a First National Bank debit card, it will stop working on June 17th, 2024 however your new Panhandle First Bank card will work immediately upon activation, so there should not be a gap in coverage.
Any reoccurring subscriptions or charges that are scheduled on your old debit card will need to be updated to your new card number. (Examples: Netflix, Hulu, insurance, Amazon subscriptions, monthly subscriptions, etc.)
