About the Scholarship
The Tindle Ramon OPSU Scholarship honors the lifelong service and leadership of Tindle Ramon, whose more than 40‑year career in community banking helped shape Panhandle First Bank and the communities it serves across the Texas Panhandle.
Beginning his career in 1985 as one of the earliest employees of the First National Bank of Spearman, Tindle played a key role in building and guiding a community institution through decades of growth, modernization, and regional expansion. Following the merger that formed Panhandle First Bank, he continued to lead critical technology and operational initiatives while mentoring the next generation of bankers. His career and recognition as a 2026 Oklahoma Panhandle State University Alumni Ambassador Hall of Fame inductee reflect a lasting commitment to education, leadership, and community service.
This annual scholarship was created to support graduating high school seniors from Panhandle First Bank communities as they begin their academic journey at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) in Goodwell, Oklahoma.
